Manifesting: Grounded in Reality

Before we get into the magic - and it is a magical process of manifesting - let’s ensure we are bringing truth and reality along for the journey too.

Since you were young, there are many, many things in life you have experienced that you have no control over.

You did not attract, nor do you deserve, any of the challenges or trauma you have experienced so far. You didn’t do anything wrong.

You have great power within you and the fact remains, each of us has had people act out and do us harm on an individual basis which has shaped our life and our world. 

Also, systemic forces are in place which especially affect marginalised groups and their ability to progress equally. Thinking positive will not reverse or dissolve that - that takes continuous human accountability and action.

To leave these facts unacknowledged not only oversimplifies the practice of manifesting, but it’s also insulting and puts the blame or onus on an individual that they can’t be doing it right, when it comes to the Law of Attraction.

And oversimplification is a bit of a theme in many of the big books which leads to this impression that - ask, believe, receive and it’ll just happen… for most that isn’t the case.

The word ‘just’ comes up a lot in manifesting and Law of Attraction rhetoric… just do your affirmations, just stay positive, just read Wallace Wattles, or just listen to Abraham Hicks and ta-da! But without excavating and owning our unique view of the world, these things remain as throwaway and unhelpful as they sound.

If it were just that easy it would just be working.

Every manifesting practice worth its salt - even the ones that claim to be new and different - follow established principles that have necessary steps of uncovering, so we’ll be starting there too. 

I’ll also be sharing attributions and resources along the way too so you can follow the necessary tangents your manifestation journey requires, just as much as mine has.
